2023 Recap

2023 Recap

2023 has been an amazing year for me and RemedyGuard.

It all started back in January with a little “Hello World”. The response was encouraging! I was on the right track! I quickly realized that I needed to connect with local resources to grow my entrepreneurial skills.

In February, I attended the Military Entrepreneurship Forum hosted by the Institute for Veterans and Military Families - IVMF. It was a wonderful opportunity to network and find out about a lot of the programs available to veteran entrepreneurs.

So I started applying to everything.

Come March, I was accepted into the Warrior Academy run by Warrior Rising. It helped me translate the concept of rally points into my own business. That’s when I set my sights on the Rx Summit.

The Rx Summit is the most influential event addressing the Opioid Epidemic and Overdose Crisis. If you want to connect with other like-minded people, that’s where it’s at.

So that’s where I went in April and let me tell you, it was so affirming! There’s so much hope coming to America. I left that event a changed person.

May rolls around and I get connected with my first mentor through American Corporate Partners (ACP), Shawn McDuff.

In June, I put down the deposit on my first 20ft container of lockboxes. It’s happening!

July was intense! I got accepted into the Entrepreneurial Bootcamp for Veterans program offered by the IVMF. That was a 4 week hybrid course – 3 weeks online and a week at Syracuse. The in-person portion is like drinking out of a fire hose. They present so much information, a normal human couldn’t digest it all.

The container was ready in August, but I had to do the unthinkable. I sold my stocks. Took an $18k loss and rolled it all into RemedyGuard.

Come September and the container has landed, locking bags arrive for OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, and I’m accepted into Jax Bridges hosted by JAX Chamber. I also put myself out there as a mentor through Veterati. I know enough at this point to help guide others.

October was the month for cannabis connections. I needed to get current on what was going on in the cannabis community. Dustin Hoxworth from Fat Nugs Magazine and Kristen Y. from Bud for Blood shined some light on some very important issues affecting millions of Americans. If you're not pissed off, you should be. More locking bags arrived, this time for Oregon Poison Ctr.

November brought an unexpected surprise – a large order wiped out half my stock! I need to get back into production! It was also the end of Jax Bridges and I got the opportunity to pitch in front of local businesses. Any investors out there?

December took me to DC where I joined the rest of the Coalition for America's Families Teens and Students for the first time. We spent a day on the Hill pushing for bill S.2569 so that people can have access to life-saving tools.

I'm impossibly excited for 2024! I look forward to continued growth and prosperity for everyone!
